Voices from Communities
Join us for a conversation with members from our Humanities Community-Engaged Research Advisory Board Hub.
Our community advisors share knowledge and experience as we develop strategies and launch activities designed to foster interest in humanities research and grow networks that can foster future collaborations.
With foundational support from the Henry Luce Foundation, we are collectively embarking on a new initiative to broaden community involvement in community-engaged humanities research. The Humanities Community-Engaged Research Advisory Board Hub will bring together UCM faculty and invited Community Advisors to serve as a think tank and sounding board as well as develop strategies and launch activities designed to foster interest in humanities research and networks that can foster future collaborations. This initiative builds on earlier efforts to build bridges between local communities and UC Merced's Humanities faculty and graduate students. As we explore ways to train our Interdisciplinary Humanities graduate program students in the best practices of community-engaged research, we also strive to strengthen connections with the community.

These workshops are focused on supporting graduate student development in community-engaged humanities research. Participation is open to faculty, graduate students and community partners and students enrolled in IH 291: Seminars in the Humanities. Participation in the workshop series is part of professional development and a qualification to apply for a summer Luce fellowship.
This workshop series was made possible by the generous support of the Henry Luce Foundation.
