The Center for the Humanities at UC Merced, in collaboration with Merced County Library, invites book nominations for a "Common Read" for Merced County. The Common Read will include 10 book club discussions at Merced County Library's locations along with the distribution of 200 free copies of the book. Nominators should either be residents of Merced County or work in Merced County. The nominated book should fall under the grant's theme of "Our Interwoven Futures." Sub-themes for the grant include:
Risk, Durable Justice, and Reconciliation
Transformative Communities of Care and Mutual Aid
Migrations, Diasporas, and the Future of Cultural Revitalization
Designing Responses to Climate Impacts - from Wildfires to Floods
